'Over the Hills' - CW+ Drawn III.

CW+ Drawn III residency is a program encouraging drawing at the front line of care in Chelsea & Westminster hospitals. Drawing is used to communicate, enhance and improve the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors.

'Within my residency program I met patients, staff and visitors who generously shared their experiences of the hospital experience with me. I met countless individuals in different areas of the hospital in Chelsea, talking to me about their lives in their worlds, as well as the hospital itself.'

'Via my on-site drawing and writing; I explored the impact of various sensory experiences within different areas of the hospital, such as Nell-Glyne, Nightingale, and Ron Johnson wards, and the intensive care unit.'

'By spending my time in various departments, I gained valuable insight into how the sights and sounds of a specific environment can influence one's perception and experience. This is what inspired me to create my landscape. Each section of the piece is a visual depiction of each ward, with noise levels represented through mark-making.'

'Prints for the various wards I attended whilst at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. These prints are smaller sections of the main artwork, intended to represent areas of the hospital I spent my time within.

Thank you AAU, ICU, Nell-Glyne, Ron Johnson, Xray, MRI, Nightingale, Mortuary, and everyone I spoke to during my time there.'
